Aniris Fernandez-Ortiz Named RPCS Varsity Volleyball Head Coach

Roland Park Country School Athletic Director Carol Hatton is pleased to announce the hiring of Aniris Fernandez-Ortiz as Varsity Volleyball Head Coach. Fernandez-Ortiz has been an Assistant Coach of the RPCS Varsity Volleyball program since 2015.
“I had the opportunity to work alongside of Aniris at the end of the 2016 season,” says Hatton. “She has an advanced understanding of the sport and strategic vision for the RPCS program. Aniris makes intelligent game time adjustments and anticipates her opponents’ adjustments very well. Her energy at practice and understanding of how to prepare each day is exactly what we need contend once again in the IAAM B Conference.”
Fernandez-Ortiz has been playing volleyball since the age of 6, representing her native country of Puerto Rico in tournaments in Florida, California, Atlanta and Chicago. From 2011 to 2014 she played as a Libero/Defensive Specialist for Towson University. While at Towson, she helped coach the TU summer volleyball camp for girls age 14-18. Fernandez-Ortiz was also an assistant coach for the Baltimore Elite Volleyball Club 17s team in 2014 and 2015. During those two seasons the teams won multiple mid-Atlantic tournament championships.
