Volunteer Roles

  • COURSE MARSHALS (on course)

    Volunteers will be assigned to a designated area along the course in order to monitor and coordinate runners/walkers. Great opportunity to cheer for friends, family members and students who are participating. Charm City Run will escort volunteers out on the course and pick up after runners have returned. 
  • FINISH LINE (on campus)

    Volunteers will be assigned to the finish line area to help direct runners/walkers to the appropriate area, and to maintain the water supply for finishers. 
  • POST-RACE PARTY (on campus)

    Volunteers will help set-up the party and distribute snacks to participants during the post-race party.
  • REGISTRATION and PACKET PICK-UP (on campus)

    The run starts at 8:30am (walk at 8:35am) and race day registration will begin promptly at 7:30am. Volunteers will help participants register, pick up their packets and get to the starting line. 
  • SPLIT-TIMERS (on course)

    A split time is the time it takes to run a fraction of a race. Volunteers will share split times as the runners/walkers pass by on the course.
  • WATER-STOP (on course)

    There will be a water-stop on the course. Volunteers will help prepare cups of water ahead of time for the runners, and help distribute the water as the runners/walkers pass by the stop. Charm City Run will escort volunteers out to the stop on the course and pick up after runners have returned.
