Lower School Process

Grades K - 5 Admissions Process

  • Make an appointment to visit RPCS

    All applicants to Grades K, P1 and 1st please contact the Admissions Office to schedule an individual appointment with our Director of Admissions and take a personal tour of the school.

    All applicants to Grades 2- 5 are invited to a Student Visiting Day where they will attend classes with an RPCS student hostess and meet other students, teachers and the Lower School Division Head.  

    Parents have an option to stay on the morning of their daughter’s Visiting Day for a Parent Information Session with the Head of School and Division Head.
  • Complete an Application

    Submit an online application. There is a $60 application fee.
  • Schedule Admissions Testing

    The Admissions Office must receive the application and the application fee before testing is scheduled.

    K, P1 or 1st Grade Applicants:
    • Applicants for Kindergarten are given a small group readiness test at RPCS in January. The Admissions Office will contact you to schedule the group assessment.
    • Applicants for Pre-first and Grade 1 are given a one-on-one evaluation by a member of the Admission staff. This is scheduled by appointment beginning in October. 

    2nd - 4th Grade Applicants:
    • Students applying to Grades 2-4 will test at RPCS on Saturday, January 6, 2018. Please call the Admissions Office to sign up for this testing date. Applicants may test at RPCS or have approved test scores sent to us from another school.

    Grade Applicants:
    • Students applying for Grade 5 take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) test. RPCS has ISEE testing on Saturday, November 4, 2017 or Saturday, January 6, 2018. To register for the ISEE testing, click here. If students are unable to test at RPCS on the dates above, they are able to take the ISEE at other area independent schools. Those dates can be obtained online or by calling 800-446-0320. Parents should request that the ISEE results be sent to RPCS.
  • Request School Transcript

    Submit an Authorization Form to your daughter's current school for the release of school records/ transcripts. The forms are to be sent to RPCS directly from her current school.

  • Request Common School Referral Forms

    Submit a Common School Referral Form to your daughter's current school, to be completed by her homeroom teacher and mailed directly to the RPCS Admission Office:

  • Financial Assistance

    Need based Financial Assistance is available to families in Grades K-12.  To apply for financial assistance, please submit a Financial Assistance Application by January 6, 2018.
  • Notification Date

    The applicant and her family will be notified of the school’s Admission decision on February 16, 2018.
